Original title: I Can't install driver of mouse or touchpad after update to windows 10 since I installed windows 10, I cant connect mice to my laptop. I searched for its drivers from the producer of my laptop (Dell Latitude E6400) but they said that all drivers couldn't be installed on windows 10.

Method 1:
Let's first run hardware and troubleshooter and check.

1. Open Control Panel.

2. Type “Troubleshooting “in the search box and hit enter.

3. Click on Hardware and sound.

4. Click on Hardware and device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Run the SFC.

Follow the below steps:

1. Open Command Prompt.

2. Select “Run as Administrator”.

3. Type “sfc /scannow” without quotes and hit Enter.

Now check for the issue.

Method 3:

You have to download the drivers from the manufacturer website.

If you find the driver in Device manager then uninstall the Mice & other pointing Driver and reinstall from the manufacturer’s website.

I would suggest you to uninstall the Touchpad Driver and reinstall it.Follow the steps given below to uninstall the Touchpad Driver.

1. Click on Start.

2. Select Device Manager.

3. Find and double-click Mice & other pointing Driver from the left panel to uninstall.

4. Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.

5. Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.

6. After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible.

   After you have successfully uninstalled the driver go to manufacturer’s website. Download the latest touchpad driver and install it.

   If the drivers are not available for Windows 10, download for Windows 8 from your manufacturer’s website and install in Windows 8 compatibility mode:

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.

c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
