Windows XP is a one of the best and most usable Operating System launched by Microsoft on August 24, 2001. It is the second most popular version of Windows, based on installed user base. Window XP is specially design for personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, and media centers.

Windows XP era was the golden era of desktop. Microsoft has changed the Windows GUI in anticipation of tablets starting Windows 8 usability has gone painstakingly down. Wise people have realized lately that Tablets will soon be either obsolete (thanks to mobiles) or used only for watching pictures/movies. People will mostly use Mobile or Desktop in coming times. Desktop is here to stay thanks to the keyboard and mouse. Who will like to swipe left to right for 10 inches on a touch display when we can do the same for flicking the mouse for just 1 inch?

If the above observation is true, then we must look back and try to bring the goodness of Windows XP. It should not be too difficult for MS to bring back the Windows XP look & feel to Windows 10. Windows XP had undoubtedly the best GUI among all desktop OS in computing history. There are still a millions of users who long for Windows XP. Even Win 7 is pretty better UI than Win 8 or Win 2010. Despite millions of negative feedback about Windows 8 and successors on the internet, Microsoft doesn't look like hearing. It appears from surface that no one cares about customers at Microsoft? Or they are just doing it for the sake of bottom lines? Or they are over-doing it????

The over-doing spirit kills good things, it is evident from time immemorial. The human zeal to over-do the things is beautifully summarized in an old fable (Title: The king has become naked) given below:

The king has become naked

'There was a king fond of fine dress. A weaver promised him a dress made of very thin cloth to make it look fancy.
The king was impressed with the thin dress. He told the weaver to make it further and further thin. After a limit, the weaver couldn't make it further thin, he had a grand idea. He told the king that he has made a dress with a cloth so thin that no one can see it. The king was impressed. He put on this new dress and went outside for a parade.
A little boy seeing the king naked shouted - 'The king has become naked'.

The Windows GUI team perhaps has done the same thing what the king did to this dress; they spoiled the GUI to make it 'super good'.
